During the birthing process (vaginal or cesarean) there is a good chance that you have lost a fair amount of blood and a lot of iron. It is important to have your iron studies checked after birth and this can be done before your 6 week follow up appointment if you aren’t already taking an iron supplement.

Including iron rich meals in your diet regularly will assist to replenish your iron stores after giving birth.
