Written by Clinical Naturopath Alana Mulhall

B12 plays a critical role in the development and function of the nervous system. Breastfeeding mothers will require higher levels of B12 and deficiency of this nutrient during breastfeeding may impact the cognitive development of her baby’s.

Symptoms of B12 deficiency may include low energy, shortness of breath, pale skin and poor exercise tolerance.

B12 IS FOUND IN: Foods from animal sources, Eg. Red meat 🥩

You may be at risk of B12 deficiency if you are vegan, vegetarian or have a gastrointestinal disease such as coeliac disease.

We recommend speaking with the Mothers Mylk Clinic Naturopath about a B12 supplement.
