"As a mother, I know all too well the feelings of frustration and impact of sleep deprivation when your child is not sleeping well. SLEEP SUPPORT FAQS
What is sleep training?
Sleep training can be a little bit of a controversial term, put simply it is teaching a baby to sleep independently (self-settle). Our sleep consultant will guide and support you with holistic and gentle settling techniques that is truly considerate to your little ones individuality.
Do you use CIO (Cry-It-Out technique)?
No. Christine recommends only responsive techniques when it comes to teaching your child to settle and re-settle independently. There is a broad spectrum of sleep settling techniques to choose from and Chris will always aim to match the best technique to suit your parenting style and your child's personality.
Will my baby cry?
We know that crying can be a real trigger for many parents, which is why we use no cry-it-out techniques. However when we start to teach a baby to fall asleep in a different way than they are used to they will often communicate or 'protest' through some crying.
Will sleep training affect my attachment with my baby?
No! Studies have shown that sleep training does not affect attachment. It has no long term effects on stress (cortisol levels), a child's behaviour or emotions, and is not linked to attachment. In fact it has been proven to improve baby's sleep, maternal mood and sleep!
How long does the process take?
Any form of change or learning a new skill takes time to master. This can vary depending on your baby's temperament and the pace you choose to go at.
I don't want to 'sleep train', can you still help me with my baby's sleep?
Absolutely! We understand sleep training isn't for everyone and that's 100% okay! There are so many ways to help improve your little one's sleep holistically. If you're not sure if it's for you, book a free discovery call to learn how we can help!
Do you offer in home sleep support?
At this time our services are offered virtually. Consultations can be conducted over phone or video/zoom. When you book a Sleep Support Package 2 you will receive daily contact with Christine and we find this is best done over phone and/or text.
